International filmmaker

role overview

This posting is for somebody’s dream job: Travel the world, with a camera on your shoulder, to tell powerful and impactful stories that truly change lives and communities for today, tomorrow, and eternity. We are seeking a passionate and gifted International Story Producer/Filmmaker to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in cross-cultural environments, has a heart for telling powerful stories of non-profit work around the globe, and knows how to capture and craft compelling stories that resonate deeply with western audiences.

This position will work closely with some of the most strategic faith-based ministry organizations in the world ranging from church planting movements, development organizations, water orgs, medical and refugee service and beyond.

You’ll work on the front lines of storytelling—researching, producing, filming, and directing projects with our team and our clients that communicate the harsh realities of our world and the redemptive work being done around the globe. From initial concept to final edit, your work will help inspire, mobilize, and impact people worldwide.

If jetlag, bouncy roads, roadblocks, language barriers, and stamps in your passport all excite you…then please apply.

Responsibilities
Research, pitch, and develop story concepts in collaboration with the Lampstand creative team and our clients.

Travel extensively to international and often challenging locations to capture stories on the ground, working with indigenous teams, the Lampstand team, and our clients.

You must be able to handle high stress environments while presenting peace to those around you.

Direct and film interviews, capture B-roll, and other visual elements in a wide variety of settings.

Build rapport and trust with individuals across diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.

Produce and oversee story-driven video content from pre-production through post.

Ensure all content aligns with the client’s values.

Adapt quickly to logistical, environmental, and interpersonal challenges while maintaining a high creative standard.

Qualifications
Proven experience producing and filming documentary or story-based content, particularly in international or cross-cultural settings.

Strong portfolio demonstrating visual storytelling in challenging or remote locations.
Deep understanding of and comfortability telling stories for faith-based and non-profit clients

Ability to work independently and within a collaborative, fast-moving team.

Comfortable operating cameras, audio equipment, and basic lighting in field conditions.

Experience working in regions where sensitivity, discretion, and cultural awareness are essential.

Ability to work and partner with clients to achieve their goals.

Willingness to travel up to 40-60% of the time, often on short notice and for extended periods up to 14 days.

Flexibility, resilience, and a servant-hearted attitude.

Preferred Qualifications
Background in journalism, missions, NGO-development work, or cross-cultural ministry.

Editing skills in DaVinci Resolve.

Ability to shoot and capture stories as a “one-man-band” when the occasion arises.
